Welcome to The IHRACC
The Indian Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Trust was established on April 25, 2007, by K.B. KANNAN, with its registered office initially at No. 131, Kalpakkam, Neithavoyal Post, Ponneri Taluk, Tiruvallur District, Tamilnadu, and a branch office in Chennai. The trust aims to promote human rights, freedom of speech and belief. K.B. KANNAN was the First Managing Trustee, and Mrs. K. Jayalakshmi was appointed as a Trustee.

Amendments to the Trust Deed, particularly one executed on August 21, 2007, led to changes in the Founder and Trust Branch address, both amended to No. 221, Karneswar Koil Street, Mylapore, Chennai-600 004. The amendments also clarified that the "Indian Human Rights & Anti Corruption Cell" is part of the trust and will function autonomously. Mr. K.B. Kannan served as All‑India President and later he handed all over his duties and responsibilities to Dr. Kanipakam Murali as the All‑India President.

The cell's objectives include promoting fundamental human rights, dignity, and social welfare, providing assistance to the poor and elderly, organizing various educational awareness programs and conducting seminars.
Human Rights
Human rights are basic freedoms and protections that belong to every person, regardless of race, gender, nationality, religion, or any other status. These rights are universal (applicable to all), inherent (by birth), and inalienable (cannot be taken away). The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), adopted by the UN in 1948, is the foundation of modern human rights law.
Core Principles:
- Universality: Apply to everyone equally.
- Inherent: Exist naturally, not granted by governments.
- Inalienable: Cannot be removed, even by law.
- Equality & Non-Discrimination: Everyone is equal in dignity and rights.
- Indivisibility: All rights are linked and equally important.
Key Examples of Human Rights:
- Right to life and personal security
- Freedom from slavery and torture
- Freedom of thought, religion, and expression
- Right to education
- Right to health and work
- Right to a fair trial
